The Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS) is an independent administrative institute, established by way of the national law for the purpose of contributing to the advancement of science in all fields of the natural and social sciences and the humanities. The Indian JSPS Alumni Association (IJAA) was founded in the year 2006, with the objectives to promote and advance scientific exchange, research and cultural collaboration between India and Japan, to encourage collaborative work amongst the JSPS Fellows to host professors and honorary members. Indian researchers visited Japan under JSPS have been advancing research and cultural ties between India and Japan.
